WHAT'S NEXT FOR BARIKAD CREW
From the Desk of Shakaitutu...
It was a moment of, sadness, cries, and every word that can be associated with the word Tragedy. It was also a moment where the whole world became aware of the power behind the RAP KREYOL movement. The movement suffered a monumental lost. The lost of 5 generals. People die everyday in this world, but very few catch the attention of the world. We shall always remember these soldiers because of the work that they put into this movement. We call them soldiers because anybody who believes in "Goumen pou sa-w kwe" is a soldier.
In the name of Barikad Crew, the whole RAP KREYOL community would like to thank everybody who gave their support to help cope with this lost. Barikad Crew would like to inform everyone that the group is still around and they will not go anywhere as they will continue to fight for what they believe in. They ask for the support from their fans. They will continue to honor those names Papa Katafalk, Dade, Deja Voo, Guichard, and Djoe.
Not to sound negative in anyway, but SHAME on you if you use this tragic event for personal gain. We became aware of some people who have used the guy's names to make a few bucks by pretending that they are raising funds to help the guys. To the fans and supporters, if you are thinking about raising funds to help the guys and their families, make sure you know where your money is going. It was interesting to see some people (not naming any names), who in the past, was fighting so hard against RAP KREYOL, was getting their "Shine" on at the guys' funerals. We are hoping that they were just doing that because they had a change of hearts instead of being hypocrites. Let us remind you that RAP KREYOL is more than music. It is a movement lead by the youth. It is a voice for the voiceless. Perfect example, look at the guys' funerals. The guys are a voice for the voiceless. If you had the wrong idea about the movement, learn from that event.
To those people who have been doing fund raisers in good faith (You guys know who ya'll are), there are no words in our vocabulary that would say THANK YOU like we want to. Keep doing what you are doing. Make sure those guys' names are not forgotten. Also, make sure that the money that you have raised goes to the guys and their families. Like Barikad Crew says: "Nou Pap Lage," "N-ap toujou goumen pou sa no kwe."

What's next for Barikad Crew? Stay tuned! You'll be amazed!!! Not trying to give anything away yet, but remember that "Music En Folie" is right around the corner. That's all we are allowed to say.
