Top Kreyol Haitian Film Festival at Jacksonville presents the best new works by both rising talents and internationally recognized artists. The Festival's main slate encompasses an average of 20 feature films and 10 shorts films for this year from the Haitian cinema industry all over the world. There are no categories and no prizes are awarded for its first edition.
This event will be dedicated to the haitian cinema in the world. One of its main idea is to open up to a new world and offer opportunities and new discoveries. Opportunity to grace the big screen and to make face with the creativity of the haitian cinema. It will offer the greatest and the most incredible new and the best films from the world of the haitian cinema.

The Festival The Top Kreyol Haitian Film Festival at Jacksonville was founded to celebrate the Haitian international cinema, to recognize and support new filmmakers, and to enhance awareness, accessibility and understanding of the art among a broad and diverse and passionate filmgoing audience that will number over 50,000 this year.
Top Kreyol Haitian Film Festival at Jacksonville presents two days that includes premieres of new films from an international roster of established and emerging directors; major retrospectives and high profile events. TKHFFAJ is one of those rare events whose stature will be matched by its popularity, it'll welcome this year an aggregate audience of more than 50.000, filmmakers and industry leaders from everywhere, age, economic and ethnic group.
In addition, the Top Kreyol Haitian Film Festival at Jacksonville offers filmgoers a rare opportunity to meet some filmakers. Directors, Screenwriters and Cinematographers eager to share their work will provide an exclusive inside look at the industry during their film presentation.

SubmissionSubmissions for 2009 Top Kreyol Haitian Film Festival at Jacksonville (November 28–29) will be welcomed starting June 1, 2009, with deadlines in September 2009.
Pre-selection conditions
DEADLINE All films to be submitted for the Official Selection must be entered by September 30th, 2009.
It is imperative to fill in the entry form by this date.
A print DVD of the films submitted for selection must reach the Festival by September 30th, 2009.
MATERIAL (equipments used for shooting the film)
• for feature films:
- 35mm film print
- Beta SP (Pal, NTSC) or Digital Beta (Pal, NTSC)
- VHS (Pal, Secam, NTSC)
- DVD
• for short films:
- VHS (Pal, Secam, NTSC)
- DVD
SUBTITLING The Selection Committee will accept to screen a film:
•WITHOUT subtitles IF the original language.
•WITH subtitles for all other original languages.
APPLICATION AND SCREENING FEE FOR THE PRESELECTION
• There is no fee for participating.
IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED You will be contacted before the official press conference, which will take place towards mid-September. The Film Department will give you all the necessary information on time, only if your film is selected.
