Profil: Seca Konsa and les Enragés
From Kafou incFrom the streets of Delmas 3 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to NYC, Seca Konsa is a bold, unique, lyrical voice that uses Hip-Hip to communicate the struggle of urban life coupled with his own life experiences and those that must live in it. Seca Konsa translated from Creole to English means "That it, Like That", and that is the motto he lives by and brings to his music.
Hip-Hop found Seca Konsa in the basement of Head 2 Toe Barbershop in Shady-Ville, Queens Village where he and his boys decided to form a group called Operation Survival Souls Combined (OSSC). It is there they would pen down lyrics, transfer them to tracks and take them to the streets. The streets turned into clubs and that served as the groups stomping ground, that would later enable them to perform at a number of notable venues such as Joe's Pub, SOB's and colleges throughout the Tri-State area. Seca Konsa launched his solo career as the, "Illest Haitian Rapper."
His debut mixed CD, entitled, "MELODI LA RI" (Melodies from the Streets) featuring Les Enrages has been dubbed by fans, peers, colleagues and non-Haitians as a pure classic, especially with his signature track entitled "pa jijem konsa" "Don't Judge me like that". Other tracks to have created a buzz is the track entitled, Se Mwen Se Ou (It's me, It's You), a smooth Creole Hip-Hop ballad. Unbeknownst to him, Seca Konsa's sophomore project would place him as one of the second generation pioneers of the "Creole Hip-Hop," movement.
Seca Konsa continues to push the envelope in the Creole Hip-Hop movement, especially with his upcoming mixtape, "MELODI LA RI" Vol 2 where we see a different, more introspective Seca Konsa that brings a certain poetic justice to life on the streets. In addition to his upcoming mixtape, Seca Konsa has participated in the Emergenza Musica Festival competition as a Creole Hip-Hop rapper, which is a typically known to be a rock environment.
He has been able to make it to the Semi-Finals and recently his collaboration with Bele from Les Enrages entitled "Kreyol Hip-Hop Anthem", on Fat Joe's, "Make it Rain" track has had a few spins on Hot 97. Recently, he teamed up with French Beats International (FBI), to launch his first single off of his "MELODI LA RI" Vol 2 Mixed CD, entitled, "We Be Ayisien".
